Hollywood Beach Broadwalk... South Florida

Bike, Skate, Walk...  Popular Multi-use Beachside Trail

Hollywood Beach "Broadwalk" - A picturesque place to bike, walk, eat, shop and people watch. Formerly a beachside street, the Hollywood Beach "Broadwalk" runs about 2.5 miles past hotels, restaurants, shops, parks, and apartments. Built in the 1920's, the area retains an old Florida feel, with much original architecture in place. Often compared to Venice Beach in California, but more laid-back. Paid parking at Hollywood North Beach Park, or on city streets adjacent to the Broadwalk, or (per a tip from Bonnie at FloridaRambler.com ) park for free on weekdays at West Lake Park and bike about a mile to the Broadwalk. Biking on Hollywood Beach Broadwalk... Comments and Photos

Hollywood Beach Broadwalk

A dedicated (but be prepared to share) bike path runs along the Broadwalk. The pace here is leisurely, with bikes, pedestrians, rollerbladers, Segways and surreys sharing the Broadwalk. At about the midpoint, Charnow Park has picnic tables, playground, splash pad, and a band shell with frequent performances.

Surf Road to Dania Beach

Continuing north from the Broadwalk, a wide bike lane along Surf Road goes to Dania Beach (at Ocean Park fishing pier), passing North Beach Park, Keating Beach, and the historic Carpenter House (a classic 1940's beach bungalow) for an additional 2 miles of biking. At the end of Surf Road, take the short unpaved path (it was very sandy when we visited, we had to push our bikes through), or bike out Balboa St. to A1A to Dania Beach.
