Blountstown Greenway Trail... Florida

Multi-use Bike Trail from Blountstown to the Apalachicola River

The trail follows the route of the former Marianna and Blountstown (M&B) Railroad from Blountstown (county seat for Calhoun County) to the Apalachicola River. The pleasant, well-shaded trail crosses several streets, but traffic is light and crossings are well marked. An underpass at busy route 20 is a plus. Benches and fitness stations are located along the trail. The nearby Panhandle Pioneer Settlement is a recreation of pioneer life - a 5-acre living history museum with 18 historical buildings. The Florida National Scenic Trail connects to the Greenway. (Map link and photos below.)

Biking on Blountstown Greenway Trail... Comments and Photos

Neal Landing to Sam Atkins Park

We biked from Neal Landing along the Apalachicola River, to the main trailhead in Blountstown at M&B Train Depot Park, to Sam Atkins Park. Neal Landing on the Apalachicola River is a great picnic spot.  An original steam locomotive is located at the restored depot at Depot Park.
